Pipe Organ


Pipe Organ Restoration


 The parish has a Tellers Pipe Organ that has seen various attempts at restoration over the years.

 Presently, we are working with Mr. David Storey, based on Baltimore, MD to plan a rebuild of the instrument.

 1. Rebuild the Great/Pedal half of the Organ
 2. Remove the 10 ranks of pipe work from the Great organ to the Baltimore workshop
 3. Remove Pedal Cello
 4. Remove Facade pipes in front of the Great
 5. Remove all parts of the wind system for the Great
 6. Remove all windchest pneumatic actions, bellows, tremulants
 7. Clean and releather all windchest actions, bellows, tremulants and mechanisms
 8. Clean and repair all pipework, releathering stopped wood Doppelflutes
 9. Strip and repaint existing facade pipes. Replace cloth in case.
 10. Clean chamber of dirt and debris
 11. Reinstall all parts and pipes
 12. Install new electric expression shade engines, replace two missing shades and configure the expression shades to operate when the replacement  
       console is installed
 13. Complete speech regulation on site for proper balance and power
14. Tune and test all mechanisms for proper operation
15. Replace existing Dulciana with new 73 note Twelfth 2-2/3'
16.Replace existing Trumpet with a 73 note 8' Clarinet stop
17. Rebuild the Swell/Pedal half of the Organ
18, Remove 15 ranks of pipework from the Swell organ to the Baltimore workshop
19. Remove Pedal Bourdon
20. Remove Facade pipes in front of the Swell
21. Remove all parts of the wind system for the Swell
22. Remove all windchest pneumatic actions, bellows, tremulants
23. Clean chamber of dirt and debris
24. Clean and releather all windchest actions, bellows, tremulants and mechanisms
25. Clean and repair all pipework, releathering stopped wood Swell Bourdon, Pedal Bourdon and Swell Stopt Diapason, repairing and rebuilding existing Oboe and Trumpet stops
26. Strip and repaint existing facade pipes. Replace cloth in case.
27. Existing blower, recently installed, may be kept and reused. A new static bellows will be added to control the wind.
28. Reinstall all parts and pipes
29. Install new electric expression shade engine, configure the expression shades for both
30. Great and Swell to operate from the replacement console
31. Replace existing Vox Humana with rebuilt former Great Trumpet
32. Convert Trumpet key action to 61 note unit action so the Trumpet may be played from each of the three keyboards
33. Replace existing Aeoline with 61 note Nazard 2-2/3
34. Add 61 note 2' Piccolo on unit action to empty sill on wind chest
35. Install vintage two manual drawknob console on rolling platform to control the organ. Console to have solid state combination action and sufficient knobs to control stops individually.
36. Install new solid state relay in the organ to control all stops and keys to prevent dead notes and ciphers
37. Tune and test all mechanisms for proper operation
38. Replace existing Dulciana with new 73 note Twelfth 2-2/3'
39. Replace existing Trumpet with a 73 note 8' Clarinet stop
40. Complete speech regulation on site for proper balance and power

A new Combination Action with 128 Memory Levels, 6 General thumb and toe pistons, 5 Divisional pistons, Swell to Great, Swell to Pedal, Great to Pedal reversible pistons, Sforzando, General Cancel, Set, will be installed in the organ.

Fr. O'Reilly presented a Saxophone Recital to raise funds for our organ restoration. 

A talk about the organ was given followed by a free will offering to support the fund raising.
